Overview:
Ralph Chandler, Executive Director, CIWMB, gave an overview of the 21st Century Project.

Introduction of Keynote Speaker:
Danny Eaton, Chairman, CIWMB

Keynote Address:
Ray Anderson gave a inspirational speech to kick off the summit.

Discussion of Trends and Issues:
At the summit 134 people came together and answered the following questions:

• What trends will have the greatest effect on the generation and management of solid waste in the first decade of the 21st Century? (graphics)
• What will be the most important issues in waste management in the early part of the 21st Century, and what policy questions will the Integrated Waste Management Board face in addressing these issues? (graphics)

Afternoon Keynote Speaker:

Senator Sher was schedule to be the afternoon keynote speaker but was unable to attend due to weather, however, a copy of his speech was made available to all participants.
