The Integrated Waste Management Board's 1997 Strategic Plan represents the IWMB effort to engage in long-term planning; identify and commit to key strategic goals and objectives; provide clear policy direction; and identify a clear vision of the role of the IWMB in the future. This Strategic Plan pulled the IWMB's most recent planning and assessment efforts into one process, ensuring that all of the organization's needs and program areas were considered in a comprehensive and coordinated manner. Its development has relied on the careful consideration of the organization's capabilities and environment and will further serve as a foundation to more effective key business, policy decisions, and resource allocations.
