Registration for Manufacturers Submitting a Stewardship Plan
California's Carpet Stewardship law requires the submittal of a stewardship plan by either individual manufacturers or by a stewardship organization acting on behalf of individual manufacturers. Registering with CalRecycle is part of the stewardship plan submittal process.
Who should register?
Carpet manufacturers, as defined in statute, that will be submitting a stewardship plan as an individual manufacturer (i.e., they are not covered under a stewardship organization's plan), must register.
What if I want to participate in a stewardship organization?
If you are a carpet manufacturer and are not covered under a stewardship organization's plan but would like to be, please contact the appropriate stewardship organization for information on how to be covered under their stewardship plan:
- The current carpet stewardship organization is Carpet America Recover Effort (CARE).
Please note that manufacturers who are covered under the stewardship plan submitted by CARE need not register with CalRecycle directly, as CARE will do so for you.
How do I register?
Please contact CalRecycle with your name, company name, title, email address, physical or mailing address, and phone number at:
- Carpet: Carpet@calrecycle.ca.gov
