Useful Databases
CalRecycle maintains the following databases that may be useful in relation to used oil and household hazardous waste (HHW).Used Oil Certified Center Locator. Find the CalRecycle-certified used oil collection center nearest to you. Search by city, ZIP code, or county.
Grant Information System. This database includes information on every grant awarded by CalRecycle (and its predecessor, CIWMB). Grant types include Used Oil, HHW, Tires, LEA and AB 2136, among others.
Solid Waste Characterization. This data is gathered from periodic studies of California's waste stream (including used oil and HHW) and provides information useful to local government planners, haulers, and recyclers.
Earth's 911 (1-800 CLEANUP). Search this national database for recycling locations of household hazardous waste, used oil, used oil filters, glass, plastic, paper and other recyclable materials.
Staff Directory. Listing of all CalRecycle staff, with contact information.
Publications Catalog. Information on all CalRecycle publications (with categories for HHW and used oil) and the ability to view online, download, and/or order hard copies.
Recycled-Content Products. A CalRecycle database of materials with recycled content. This is a good resource for rerefined oil and recycled paint vendors.
CalMAX. Users can search the CalMAX Catalog for wanted or available materials by any of 15 different material types and by 15 different regions in California. Users may also post new listings for CalRecycle review and eventual addition to the catalog
