Subject: Implementation of an LEA/EA Annual Achievement Award – Ralph Hunter Memorial Award

Dear Mr. Levenson:

The Enforcement Advisory Council (EAC) met on December 18, 2003 and passed Resolution 2003-06. The Resolution initiates an Achievement Award to a deserving LEA or EA Staff or Management employee to be awarded at the “Annual” LEA/CIWMB Partnership Conference. As Chair of the EAC but more importantly a Napa County employee who worked with Ralph Hunter in many aspects of the LEA program before his unexpected passing in 1999, I felt it appropriate to honor Mr. Hunter in remembering his awesome work in leading the way for many LEA’s, but also honor current LEA/EA’s and their work in solid waste field.

The EAC will partner with you, your staff, and California Conference of Directors of Environmental Health (CCDEH) Solid Waste Policy Committee Chair in recommending an appropriate nominee for the award. Documents outlining the scope, purpose and method of the Award process will be available prior to the January LEA Roundtable meetings. Should you have any question please contact me at (707) 253-4144.
