Survey of LEAs to Assess the Fiscal Impact of the Proposed Compostable Materials Handling Regulations

This all LEA E-mail was sent on behalf of the LEA Support Services Branch of the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) and Alan Glabe.

In order to assess the fiscal impact of the proposed compostable materials handling regulations, the annual amount that each county charges compost operators for the various tiers is required. It would be very useful if you could provide us with an approximate yearly charge for the EA Notification, Registration, Standardized and Full Permit tiers for composters. If the charges within a tier vary from site to site please include the average charge as well as a range of charges within that tier. We need this information as soon as is reasonably possible, but no later than October 10, 2001.
