Board Meeting: June 18 & 19, 2002

Board and P&E Committee Meeting Summary

  • The P&E Committee proposed three solid waste facility permits for consent. (The Board approved.)
  • The P&E Committee recommended and the Board approved the adoption of the proposed regulations for “The Transfer/Processing Of Putrescible Wastes.”
  • The P&E Committee directed staff to revise the application for a solid waste facility permit (SWFP) to include remaining landfill capacity information. The application form for a SWFP is in regulation so changes to the form must be done through the rulemaking process.
  • The P&E Committee will have mini-workshops for approximately one hour of each committee meeting starting in July. The first workshop will focus on items of interest to LEAs. There will be a panel of LEAs discussing their issues of greatest concern with the committee.
  • The next P&E Committee meeting is on July 8 and the next Board meeting will be on July 23-24 in Sacramento.
  • The P&E Committee and Board meetings are being audio broadcast and are available from almost any personal computer with Internet access, go to http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/ and click on the far right link under "More Resources" titled "Broadcasts".
