This all LEA E-mail was sent on behalf of Julie Nauman, Deputy Director of the Permitting and Enforcement Division and the LEA Support Services Branch of the California Integrated Waste Management Board. These Board Meeting summaries will be sent after each Board Meeting.

Board Meeting: Tuesday-Wednesday, March 12-13, 2002

  • The Board concurred in three solid waste facility permits.
  • The Board directed staff to bring the Construction And Demolition/Inert Debris Disposal (Phase II) regulations to the April Board meeting for direction on beginning the 45 day comment period.
  • This was the first month the Board meeting was broadcast to the public. The audio broadcast should be available from almost any personal computer with Internet access.

Item 2. Consideration of a Revised Solid Waste Facilities Permit (Transfer/Processing Station) for San Francisco Solid Waste Transfer and Recycling Center, San Francisco County

Vote: 4-0 (2 absent)

Item 3. Consideration of a New Standardized Composting Permit for Fort Irwin Composting Facility, San Bernardino County

Vote: 4-0 (2 absent)

Item 4. PULLED Consideration of a New Full Solid Waste Facilities Permit (Composting Facility) for the South Valley Organics Composting Facility, Santa Clara County

Item 5. Consideration of a Revised Full Solid Waste Facilities Permit (Disposal Facility) for the Crazy Horse Landfill, Monterey County

Vote: 4-0 (2 absent)

Item 6. Discussion of the Mine Reclamation Sites Survey Final Report Developed Through an Interagency Agreement with the University of California, Davis and Discussion of Initial Key Issues of the Construction and Demolition/Inert Debris Disposal Regulations Being Developed
