SB 20 E-Waste Workshop: January 9, 2004

This All LEA e-mail was sent on behalf of the Special Waste Division and LEA Support Services Branch of the California Integrated Waste Management Board.

The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) has scheduled a focused stakeholder workshop on the implementation of SB 20, California’s Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 (SB 20, Sher, Chapter 526, Statutes of 2003) for January 9, 2004, in Sacramento. The meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m. at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building.

This workshop will focus specifically on approaches to payment systems for the recovery and recycling of covered electronic products. The CIWMB is seeking input on the identification, definition and description of key system components necessary for an initial phase of SB 20 implementation.

To maximize meaningful participation, stakeholders are encouraged to review workshop materials prior to attending the workshop.

The CIWMB intends to provide an audio webcast of this event. An RSVP is requested for room planning purposes. Please send a message to ewaste@calepa.ca.gov if you are planning to attend.

Future Stakeholder Meetings

The next general stakeholder meeting will be Friday February 6, 2004 at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building.
