Announcements on CHMIA Training Opportunity and E-Waste Workshops

Evidence to Prove a Violation Training

The course "Evidence to Prove a Violation" is being offered throughout the San Joaquin Valley in early December. The course is offered to the California Hazardous Materials Investigators Association (CHMIA) and others. The instructor is Lisa Brown of CalEPA. The training is December 5th in Modesto, the 6th in Fresno and the 7th in Bakersfield.

DTSC Announces Electronic Waste Workshops

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) will host workshops December 2, 2005 and December 15, 2005 to discuss concepts developed to finalize DTSC`s three emergency regulations adopted pursuant to the California`s Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003, as amended (SB 20, Sher, Chapter 526, Statutes of 2003; SB 50, Sher, Chapter 863, Statutes of 2004).

Please refer to DTSC`s website to access the times and locations of the workshops, as well as the regulation concept language. Simply click on Electronic Waste Recycling under Hot Topics in the middle of the DTSC homepage.

After review of the concept language, if you have questions, topics, and/or comments that you would like addressed at the workshop, please submit them via email to Valetti Lang by November 30, 2005.

All interested parties are invited to participate in this public workshop. Please confirm your interest in attending either workshop by sending an e-mail notice indicating which workshop location you will be attending to Shan Yee via email or by calling (916) 323-9219.
