Comment Period Extended to October 26, 2007 for Review of Proposed Draft Compliance Strategy Plan

On September 11, 2007, the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) requested LEAs to comment on the attached "Proposed Plan to Enhance Compliance through Increased Training, Support and Enforcement" (Adobe PDF, 105 KB | MS Word, 156 KB).

After discussions at the LEA Round Tables and the September 25, 2007, Enforcement Advisory Council Meeting, the CIWMB is extending the comment period until October 26, 2007. For those of you who were able to provide comments already, we greatly appreciate your efforts. We will begin assembling your comments. For those of you who didn't have time to finish your review please focus on the following sections:

• Proposed compliance strategy for enhanced enforcement efforts to meet strategic directives, page 6-12; and
• Next steps, page 13.

Other questions to consider:

• Are there additional strategies that the CIWMB should consider?
• Are there concerns, issues or problems with the strategies proposed?
• Are there factual errors?
• Are there issues missing that should be evaluated or considered?
• Should additional enforcement activities be included or deleted in the proposal?

Please provide your comments by Friday, October 26, 2007.
