Announcing Notice of Funding Availability for the Landfill Closure Loan Program

California Integrated Waste Management Board is announcing the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Landfill Closure Loan Program (LCLP). Loans are available to operators of older-technology, unlined landfills who desire to close early to avoid or mitigate potential environmental problems caused or threatened by continued operation of the site. Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on January 15, 2009.

Two new features for the 2008-09 cycle are:

  1. The processing and scoring criteria has been simplified and improved
  2. The initial application period is followed by a first-come, first-served application period for any remaining loan funds
