Concepts for Draft Waiver of Waste Discharge Requirements for Composting Operations

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) will be hosting two informal workshops to publically discuss proposed concepts for a draft waiver of waste discharge requirements for operations that compost waste. The topic is not application of composted materials. The State Water Board is working collaboratively with the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).

• There will be two informal public workshops (one in Southern California and one in Northern California);
• Both workshops will be conducted from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm (Pacific Time), and will present the same information;
• Conference call-in phone numbers will be available (no webinar) for both meetings;
• The Southern California informal public workshop will be held on August 31, 2011, at the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board (Highgrove Conference Room) in Riverside;
• The Northern California informal public workshop will be held on September 1, 2011, at the Cal/EPA Building (Conference Room 550) in Sacramento;
• Agenda and additional details will follow closer to the meeting date.
