DRS Requirements
Revised Disposal Reporting System (DRS) regulations, effective January 1, 2006 (Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations sections 18808.3, 18809.3, 18810.3, 18811.3, 18812.3, 18813.3, and 18814.3), require haulers, solid waste facility gatehouse attendants, solid waste facility and county disposal report preparers, and other staff whose jobs involve the DRS to be trained in DRS requirements related to their specific jobs.
To help meet these requirements, the Board has developed a general overview training module. The Board is also developing additional training modules for optional use by haulers, station operators, landfill operators, transformation facility operators, and agencies (counties and Board-approved regional agencies). To avoid any confusion regarding company policies or local/regional requirements that might exceed the state minimum requirements, we recommend that management staff review these optional training materials and integrate as appropriate into company/local agency specific training materials.
