Case Studies on Economics and the Environment
The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) has developed the Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ) program to combine recycling with economic development to fuel new businesses, expand existing ones, create jobs, and divert waste from landfills.
CalRecycle has developed case studies to feature businesses that use the RMDZ program to assist jurisdictions to help support efforts to implement diversion programs and to maintain existing waste prevention, reuse, recycling and composting programs.
RMDZ case study examples are:
- Alameda County Computer Resource Center
- California BioMass | California BioMass video (4 Min, Windows Media, Multiple Bit Rate)
- Earthworm Soil Factory
- Golden By-Products, Inc. | Golden By-Products video (4 Min, Windows Media, Multiple Bit Rate)
- Looney Bins/Downtown Diversion | Looney Bins video (4 Min, Windows Media, Multiple Bit Rate)
