The following resources can provide additional information on metals including market analysis, trends, and recycling issues.

American Metal Market - is an international daily news service covering the metals and recycling industries including prices for virgin metal production and scrap. The American Metal Market contains news stories and price data for ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals.

The Aluminum Association Inc. - is the organization representing primary aluminum production.

California Recycling Advocacy Associations - Recycling advocacy associations actively promote the recovery and use of secondary materials. The California Resource Recovery Association, the Northern California Recycling Association, and Californian's Against Waste are three leading California recycling advocacy groups.

Can Manufacturers Institute - is the trade association for can manufacturers and their suppliers. The website is intended to serve as a clearinghouse for information about the steel and aluminum can and the industry as a whole.

Global Recycling Network Internet Recycling Business Center - is a free-access public site dedicated to recycling-related information.

The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries - is the association representing scrap metal processors. ISRI's Commodities Report is published 24 times a year and focuses on a single scrap commodity in each issue. The Commodities Report also provides domestic and export market analysis.

International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI) - is a global forum for information on steel, the world steel industry, and IISI activities.

Iron Age New Steel is a journal covering mini and integrated mill management and technologies. Published by Chilton Company, 825 7th Ave., New York, NY 10019.

Iron and Steel Scrap, Aluminum Mineral Industry Surveys, (monthly), U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey.

Recycling Coordinators. Nearly every incorporated city in California has a recycling coordinator that should be able to assist you in identifying either markets for, or sources of, steel can scrap and aluminum beverage containers.

Recycling Manager - publishes free-access U.S. prices and commodity market summaries. Prices are based on representative volumes delivered to consumers in each market area.

Recycler's World - is a free worldwide information exchange for those who wish to buy, sell or trade recyclable commodities, used materials and collectible items. Secondary materials can be direct marketed through this free-access public site. Price information is available.

Scrap Magazine - is a bimonthly magazine of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and includes information on market trends for metals. 1325 G Street, N.W., Suite 1000, Washington, DC 20005, (202) 737-1770.

U.S. EPA - provides information on solid waste and recycling.

The U.S. Geological Survey - provides statistics and information on the worldwide supply, demand, and flow of minerals and materials essential to the U.S. economy, national security, and protection of the environment.

Waste Age Publications - provides a number of publications that focus on the solid waste/recycling industry.
