Dairy In-Vessel Digestion Operation Except as otherwise specified in section 17896.6(a)(3), a dairy that receives imported solid waste feedstock for purposes of co-digestion, with manure in an in-vessel digester, in accordance with Waste Discharge Requirements issued by a Regional Water Quality Control Board. The Dairy In-vessel Digestion Operation may also co-digest agricultural material [17896.2 (a)(8)].
Depth Linear measurement from landfill surface to maximum depth of fill as specified in the solid waste facilities permit. [Mean sea level (msl) or below ground level (bgl)]
Digestate “Digestate” - the solid and/or liquid residual material remaining after organic material has been processed in an in-vessel digester.
Direct Transfer Facility Means a transfer facility that receives equal to or more than 60 cubic yards or 15 tons (whichever is greater) of solid waste per operating day but less than 150 tons of solid waste and meets the standards specified in 14 CCR 17402(a)(3).
Disposal "Solid waste disposal" or "disposal" means the final deposition of solid wastes onto land, into the atmosphere, or into the waters of the state. (PRC 40192).
Disposal Site "Disposal Site" or "site" includes the place, location, tract of land, area, or premises in use, intended to be used, or which has been used for the landfill disposal of solid wastes. "Disposal Site" includes solid waste landfill, as defined in Section 40195.1 (PRC 40122). "Disposal facility" or "facility" means any facility or location where disposal of solid waste occurs. (PRC 40121). "Solid waste disposal" or "disposal" means the final deposition of solid wastes onto land, into the atmosphere, or into the waters of the state (PRC 40192). See also: Classification.
Distribution Center In-vessel Digestion Operation A site that receives, for the purpose of digestion in an in-vessel digester, unsold products from retail stores to which the products were originally sent. All unsold products shall be collected and processed in covered, leak-proof containers, and remain in the custody of the owner at all times. All unsold products that are putrescible shall be refrigerated at the retail store and shall be maintained at a core temperature of 13 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit) or less during transport to the operation [17896.2 (a)(9)].
