Item Name Item Description
Permitted Indicates that a facility or site held a solid waste facility permit (14 CCR 18200 et seq.). See also: regulatory status.
Permitted Disposal Acreage A landfill or disposal site's disposal area as defined in the most current permit. (The permitted footprint of the waste.)
Permitted Throughput The permitted maximum amount of waste(s) in tons or cubic yards a permitted facility or EA notification (operation) is allowed to receive process or handle or dispose per day. The type of waste(s) and amounts vary depending on the activity type(s) allowed by the solid waste facilities permit or the EA notification. These are permitted amounts not design amounts not yet permitted. See the controlling permit or notification or applicable regulatory section for specifics on each activity type and CIWMB form E-77 (Rev. 8-04) or enforcement agency notification (CIWMB form 169) at: http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/LEACentral/Forms/#Permit.
Permitted Total Acreage The area defined in the solid waste facilities permit for permitted activities.
Permitted Unit Capacity The permitted maximum amount of waste(s) in tons or cubic yards a permitted facility or EA notification (operation) is allowed to receive, handle, process, store or dispose of. This will vary depending on each activity type(s) and/or waste type(s) in question. For solid waste landfills this is the permitted volumetric capacity in cubic yards (maximum volumetric capacity). For non-disposal facilities this is usually the annual daily average based on a 365 day year. For composting facilities or operations it is the maximum allowed to be stored on site on any given day. For transfer/processing activities it means the maximum allowed for handling and/or processing per unit time (day, week, month or year). These are permitted amounts not design amounts not yet permitted. See the controlling permit or notification or applicable regulatory section for specifics on each activity type and CIWMB form E-77 (Rev. 8-04) or enforcement and/or the most current joint technical document (JTD) 14 CCR 21585 for landfills.

Pre-regulation may also be used in the interim for those operations/facilities that may come under tiered requirements for permitting at a later date. See also: regulatory status.
