State Agency Waste Management

Integrated Waste Management Plans

As required by AB 75 (Strom-Martin, 1999), each State agency and large State facility was required to develop an integrated waste management plan by July 1, 2000. The plan was to lay out how the agency or facility would divert at least 25 percent of its solid waste from landfills or transformation facilities by January 1, 2002, and 50 percent by January 1, 2004. Annual reporting on implementation of the plans is also required. These plans (and the annual reports, once submitted) can be reviewed in the State Organization and Agency Recycling database (SOARD).

Any new agency or facility that has not yet completed a plan should contact CalRecycle staff for assistance. The following resources were provided to help agencies and facilities complete their plans.
