State Agency Recycling Recognition (STARR) Awards Program
Reducing our waste by 50 percent by the year 2004, as required by the State Agency Model Integrated Waste Management Act (Chapter 764, Statutes of 1999, Strom-Martin), requires that State agencies do their part. The State Agency Recycling Recognition (STARR) Awards program was offered through the interim goal year of 2002 by the California State Legislature and the California Integrated Waste Management Board. The awards recognized your hard work and shared successes with other agencies/facilities that may benefit from your experiences.
The most recent awards recognized outstanding programs conducted in 2002, the goal year for 25 percent diversion. Please see the case studies of winners in 2001 and 2002 to learn more about their successful programs.
