The International Tire Conference is part of California’s commitment to effectively manage waste tires, reduce green house gases and develop cooperative relations with its neighbor, Mexico. This week-long conference included several rich sessions of value to anyone with an interest in:

  • Scrap tire processing, markets and financing workshop.
  • Business and marketing opportunities for making tire derived products.
  • Manufacturing rubber and plastic products using recycled rubber.
  • Selling to the green building and government sectors.
  • Potential civil engineering projects using tire-derived aggregate.
  • U.S.-Mexico Border 2012 forum to develop sustainable scrap tire management plans.
  • U.S. EPA Resource Conservation Challenge--scrap tire management workgroup meetings (goals, crumb rubber, civil engineering, tire-derived fuel, and rubberized asphalt).

The sessions provided a wealth of information, discussion, and networking opportunities featuring professionals from across the United States, Mexico, and other countries.
