Retreaders

Question: Do tire retreaders have to complete the same trip log form as other waste tire haulers?

Answer: Yes. Previously, retreaders were under separate regulations for reporting shipments of casings to a retread facility for inspection, recapping, retreading, or recasing. Since July 2006, the only form available for completion by retreaders has been the Comprehensive Trip Log.

Brief Background: CIWMB's Rulemaking Archives page lists emergency regulations approved in 2004 and nonemergency regulations approved in 2005 regarding reporting of shipments for retreaders. The nonemergency regulations were in effect until July 29, 2006 when they sunset with the Office of Administrative Law's approval of regulations related to the Comprehensive Trip Log.
