Product Stewardship Support Project
This project is supporting the California Integrated Waste Management Board's participation in the National Electronics Product Stewardship Initiative (NEPSI). The objectives are to document local government costs, concerns, and suggestions and ensure this information is heard loud and clear in the NEPSI dialog and wherever decision-makers are considering steps to strengthen California's electronics recycling infrastructure.
The CIWMB has retained Boisson & Associates to conduct the project. (See the scope of work in Agenda Item #33 of the CIWMB's February 2002 Board meeting.) Most project tasks are now complete, as described below.

is as summary of key issues from the workshops held May 29 and 30.
Combined, the workshops included nearly 130 participants with most representing
local governments. During the two days of presentations and
discussions key themes emerged that capture the challenges communities
face in managing electronic waste.
