California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle)

Map of Public Recycling Locations

This interactive mapping tool shows the location of collection and recycling facilities for four different material types throughout California that accept material from the public: beverage containers, electronics, tires, and used oil.

Carpet, mattresses and paint recycling locators are managed by their respective stewardship organizations. The California Department of Public Health maintains a "list of home-generated sharps consolidation points." CalRecycle maintains a list of websites of county agencies that manage household hazardous waste.

Important! Contact the facility before attempting to drop off any materials to confirm that they are open to the public and accept your recyclable material.

CalRecycle is interested in maintaining the most accurate data. If any information needs to be updated please reference the Frequently Asked Questions.
