California Department of General Services (DGS) Surplus Property Program

Overview

The Department of General Services (DGS) makes State property available to State agencies on a first-come, first-serve basis. State property may also be sold to nonprofits and the general public during regular business hours. Federal property is available to eligible governmental and nonprofit agencies only. After a specified period of time designated federal property may be offered for sale to the public.

Materials Accepted

All types of surplus state and federal property, including but not limited to: desks, chairs, file cabinets, shelves, office equipment, specialty equipment, and office supplies, etc. No hazardous materials are accepted.

Source of Materials

The surplus property program only accepts reusable surplus property from the State of California and federal governmental agencies.

Collection Services

None.

Northern California.

Drop-Off Hours

Available to state and federal agencies only, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Days/Hours of Operation

Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
