July 20, 2010. The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) conducted an SB 966 Pharmaceutical Drug Waste Disposal Program workshop seeking stakeholder input regarding survey results, analysis methodology, initial findings and additional information of effective programs in California that collect and dispose of home-generated pharmaceutical waste.
Findings and stakeholder input were addressed in a report submitted to the California Legislature in Dec. 2010. The report analyzed the programs for effectiveness, cost, accessibility, and safety.
Dec. 19, 2008. The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB, now CalRecycle) conducted a Pharmaceutical Waste Best Management Practices (BMP) Workshop to review the "Criteria and Procedures for Model Home-Generated Pharmaceutical Waste Collection and Disposal Programs" document and a comments matrix of the document.
Aug. 25, 2008.The CIWMB conducted a pharmaceuticals stakeholders meeting to inform participants and to solicit suggestions on how to implement Senate Bill (SB) 966 and properly collect and dispose of pharmaceuticals.
The purpose of the meeting was to hear about some of the ways that local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations are working to ensure that pharmaceuticals are properly disposed of and how the State will assist in these efforts.
July 29, 2008. The CIWMB conducted a pharmaceutical task force meeting to discuss best management practices, data standardization, and program implementation options.
March 17, 2008. The CIWMB conducted a pharmaceutical stakeholders meeting to share information.
