  • Road to Recovery: Camp Fire Tree Removal Progress Update

    The State of California continues to aid Butte County in its recovery from the Camp Fire. Wildfire residential debris recovery ended in November of 2019. California is now focused on removing over 100,000 trees at risk of falling on public property and public rights of way.

    Through July 3, 2021, the Camp Fire Hazard Tree Removal program has cleared trees from 5,820 out of the 6,305 properties with eligible trees.  Of the 100,075 trees in Butte County that have been identified as dead or dying, 83,617 trees have been felled.

  • Butte Strong: In Remembrance of the Paradise Camp Fire

    CalRecycle remembers the tremendous loss to Butte County and the communities of Paradise, Concow, and Magalia on the one-year anniversary of the Camp Fire. We honor their strength and resilience as they turn the page from recovery to rebuilding.

    Join us on Friday, November 8, at 11:08 a.m. for 85 seconds of silence for those whose lives were lost.
