Carpet Program Status

Below is a list of recent activities and relevant documents related to the carpet stewardship program followed by archived updates from prior years:

• August 30, 2025: CARE submitted its 2024 Annual Report to CalRecycle.
• July 31, 2025: CARE provided an errata memorandum to CalRecycle. The errata memorandum corrects metrics for 2019 to 2023 that were impacted by an error that CARE identified regarding the methodology it used to calculate the total pounds of carpet its program collected, which CARE refers to as “gross collections.”
• May 27, 2025: CalRecycle’s director determined CalRecycle will maintain the California Carpet Stewardship Program goals through 2027 following CalRecycle’s 2025 review.
• January 30, 2025: CalRecycle’s director determined that CARE’s 2023 Annual Report was noncompliant.
